I have a Pioneer 180 Sportfish that has a Suzuki 90 horse power engine. My factory prop is a stainless steel 14 X 3 X 20. The 20 is the pitch. The engine is rated for 6,000 RPM. However, I am only getting 4,500 to 4,600 RPM and 30 to 31 MPH. I feel this is substandard performance. I believe I need a prop with less pitch? Does anyone have any experience with this issue on their boat? What sixe pitch do you think I should be running?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Ken, is your engine mounted too low by chance?

I wish I had better advice other than that. You may give pioneer a call and ask them what they would recommend on the 180s.

Also, the 20 pitch does seem high. I would contact pioneer to get a straight answer.
